Contract Research
The Avālence team is an important member of the research community. Data generated from R&D activities is incorporated into Avālence’s product development, and the company has presented its findings at various venues – including several National Hydrogen Association annual meetings, and to the American Solar Energy Society and in white papers such as “Results Summary of High Pressure and PV Integration Testing” reporting the results of a 2004 Department of Energy research grant. This report is available upon request.
Avālence has strong experience in undertaking such work, as illustrated by the federal and state research contracts completed or underway:
-
DOE Phase I SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research Grant) to study the Hydrofiller high pressure hydrogen production rates when powered by a solar PV array
-
State of Colorado contract to supply a Hydrofiller to Fort Collins Utilities for blended HCNG-fueling for public transit
-
DOE Phase II SBIR grant to support development of a solar-powered Hydrofiller that will culminate in the 2007 installation of a renewably-powered electrolytic hydrogen fueling station at AC Transit in Emeryville, CA
-
FTA-funded grant to develop a trailer-mounted Hydrofiller with backup power for remote production. The final installation at the Greater New Haven Transit District in New Haven, CT will be replicable in transit settings throughout the U.S.
Avālence welcomes contract research opportunities.
